MA-AUA Announces New Travel Stipends for Advanced Practice Providers

MA-AUA is proud to launch a new initiative to expand support for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in urology. APPs are essential members of the urologic care team, and this program helps ensure their voices are heard on the national stage.

APPs are invited to apply for a travel stipend to attend the AUA Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC, March 1-3, 2027. MA-AUA will award two stipends of $1,500 each to help cover the cost of travel. MA-AUA is also holding two hotel rooms at the host hotel for selected APPs. The room rate is $449 per night, plus taxes and fees.

Applicants must have at least two years of experience working in urology. Each applicant must also submit a brief personal statement, no more than one page, explaining why they would like to attend the Summit.

Eligible Covered Expenses:

  1. Hotel: Covered up to the negotiated room block rate ($449/night).
  2. Travel: Roundtrip economy/coach airfare or train transit.
  3. Ground Transportation & Mileage: Reimbursed per standard IRS mileage rates; airport parking and standard rideshares/taxis are reimbursable.

Full meals, receptions, and transportation to Capitol Hill are provided during the Summit so meal reimbursements are not covered.

Selected APPs will be required to register for the Summit, and attendance for the full duration of the Summit is mandatory.

Summit Scholarship Program for Residents, Fellows, and Medical Students

Based on a generous grant from the Mid-Atlantic Section and a match program from the AUA, MA-AUA is able to support the travel and lodging costs (up to $1,500) for 4 medical students, residents, or fellows for this meeting. Applicants can learn more about the AUA Summit by visiting auasummit.org.

Residents, Fellows, and Medical Students

You must be a current Resident or Fellow member of the AUA and enrolled in a Residency or Fellowship program at an institution located within the Mid-Atlantic Section. If you meet these eligibility requirements, please email your name, AUA ID number, email address associated with your AUA membership, and anticipated graduation date to info@maaua.org.
